I met a dad at the park, he was cool and we hung out together while our kids ran around. He took his iPhone out of his pocket to take a photo. It was completely destroyed; it was shattered on both sides and there were giant pieces of glass missing. I made a joke about how he missed the boat on getting a case for it. He got all high and mighty about design. He said “The iPhone is about as perfect a piece of industrial design as you will ever find, it is a shame to cover it with a case.” The phone was a disaster, I couldn’t believe it. He went on to say that his kids have already destroyed four of his iPhones. I wondered what was going on with this guy, I mean, iPhones are pricey, but he was committed to this and I was floored.
I looked at my own phone in its OtterBox case and saw him glance over at it and roll his eyes. Oh well. Then, he dropped his phone and yelled “Damnit that hurt.” Some of the glass was now in his finger. He said it wasn’t a big deal and started to pick it out. I rolled my eyes.
Do you cover your iPhone?
