Check out this moms crazy Bad Playdate!

Dear Bad Playdate,
I’m glad I found this site and have somewhere to vent because I had a BAD play date!

On my play date the kids opened up my kids Xmas presents and helped themselves to snacks!

This is a true story. I am not making this stuff up as I don’t think I could even if I tried. About a month ago I invited a new mom on the street and her two kids over to play. We are new as well and still don’t know a lot of people, so why not? Our kids are not the same ages, but close enough. Her kids are a little older and more mature so I thought we would have a fun, nice, easy play date. Uh….. No.

During the play date they came downstairs and opened my refrigerator and took snacks, without asking first. With the mom sitting there watching this happen. Without saying anything like she thought that was normal. This was the first time they had ever been over to my house.

The weirdest part was at the end. The mom and I couldn’t find her kids, the mom wanted to get going. Where were they? In my master bedroom, in my closet, with a stool, throwing things out of the way to get the Xmas presents I had hidden there for my kids. They were unwrapping them and opening the boxes while my kids were watching. What did the mom say? Was she embarrassed, did she apologize? No..nothing, just said, “oh my kids like to explore” and then continued to talk to me like it was a totally normal thing to do. Then they wouldn’t LEAVE. Half an hour later she was trying to get them out while both of them were having tantrums. She explained how hard it was for them to transition. OK…goodbye. I haven’t talked to her since and don’t know what to do if she contacts me again, since I will see her as she is down the street. Overall strange.
